20 week Scan

We've just returned from our trip to the hospital for my 20 week scan and am pleased to be able to say that everything is fine. Herbert was moving around happily, wriggling while the poor sonographer was trying to get a good picture. We couldn't see whether its a boy or a girl as the cord was between the legs, but the sonographer said "I think that's a scrotum, but we can't be sure"

I've had a feeling it was a boy anyway, so I'm going to continue to say 'he' and try to get David to agree on a boy's name that won't cause the poor child to hide in shame.

After the scan we had another appointment with the midwife - more urine and blood pressure checks, then one with the consultant, because of my BMI. This also means that I get an extra scan at 32 weeks, an appointment with a dietitian (yes, I know how to eat, I just have no willpower) and an appointment with an anesthetist to make sure there'll be no problems if I need anesthetic during labour.

We've got three pictures, of the head and torso, which we will put online this time!

All in all, I'm very happy. Herbert's obviously well, heart and limbs all present and apparently working (Herbert waved!)

This is to test the facility as I've preciously been unsuccessful posting and have received an email from David advising new numerical system should work.
