While cycling home yesterday evening, I managed to get stung by a wasp - in my bottom lip.
This reaffirmed my belief that I probably have an allergic reaction to wasp stings.
This photo shows me just after getting home (hence sweat, brightly coloured top and ear-phones).

Some hours later, things hadn't really improved ...

So eventually, after taking my sister's orders, I went to Redditch A&E where I was given some non-descript white pills to take.
Thankfully, 24 hours later, it's effectively gone.
This is in stark contrast to around 10 years ago when I was stung on my arm when working at Nash Farm, and I had a swollen arm for approximately a week.

Not nice at all
That looks truly unpleasant. Do you keep a large dose of anti-histamine handy now? Same thing happened to me a couple of years ago: http://www.sungate.co.uk/?p=117 - although I didn't manage to get any photos!
Erm... we had some puritan
Erm... we had some puritan (or what ever they are called) at home, which Kat fed to me.
I was stung around 10 years ago on my arm, and it swelled up quite spectacularly - at the time I didn't know I was allergic to wasps, so didn't 'get help' and it remained swollen for the best part of a week.
This time, it was practically gone the next morning, although my face does look fatter on one site still.
> puritan I think you mean
> puritan
I think you mean piriton. :-)
Unless you do actually have a 17th Century Protestant living in your house... http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=puritan
\/\/ot-eva!
Kat's already corrected me a few times over that, but I'm too stupid to remember the right word.... thanks though :)
I'm not laughing
That second one is a pretty spectacular photo.
I think I'm allergic to them (had similar swelling thing happen to arm yonks ago) hence running around graden when I see them.
Ooer
Wow, that's some impressive swelling. If it's full of puss, combine with 'Biting Cassie' and you'll be well sorted :P
there was no puss :P
And thankfully Cassie hasn't bitten anyone lately (at least, she hasn't if I conveniently forget about her biting the binman a few months ago).
owie
Poor thing. I get that with horseflies. Something bit me on my bum a few weeks ago and it swelled up to the size of a coaster and took until a few days ago to disappear completely. I looked like I'd been shot in the arse by a paintball :)
