Random update

Hello world.

First off - something to laugh at - The Dos and Don't with Babies (thanks Elleo).

Secondly - Rowan is now feeding very well, but perhaps too well - as he seems to like the idea of feeding almost every hour for 5-10 minutes. At the moment we're taking the view that he can eat as often as he likes, as long as he puts on weight and catches up for the first 36 hours where he wasn't keen on feeding at all.

I found Tuesday night with Rowan in the same room as me difficult (it was after all his first night 'home') - every time he made a noise I felt the urge to check him (Is he suffocating? Is he hungry? Does he need a new nappy? What does that noise mean etc etc). Suffice to say I didn't get much sleep.

Last night went better, but perhaps mainly because we went to bed at 7pm (!) and Kat was kind enough to give me a 4 hour stretch with no interruptions which saved my head from hurting too much more.

Today, we went to our NCT group meetup in Bromsgrove; the two other mums there who have 6-9 week olds thought we were really brave taking Rowan there when he's only a few days old. He behaved really well, and it was nice for Kat to get out of the house. Suffice to say we exchanged baby tips and so on. :)

There are a few new random photos online of Rowan/Kat/myself including a shot of a lovely gift Hannah and Joe (and Oscar) sent which is beautifully wrapped bouquet of clothes :) (Thank you both!).

It's all about the wax earplugs

We kicked the twins out of our bedroom within a few days but I suspect Cathie will want the new one in with us for longer this time.

If you've not already then I'd suggest implementing some sort of lie-in strategy, one each per week. Does wonders for the sanity.

Hope it's going well.
